It’s been reported by a few bloggers already that Martin Hengel has passed away: TheoBlog, Scriptorium, and RDTWOT.
This is sad news indeed as Hengel will be greatly missed. He is one of the finest biblical scholars of our time and his contributions to the field will remain relevant for generations to come. Let’s read a little bit of Hengel tonight in his honor.
