Loren Rosson and the Most Thought-provoking Books

Loren Rosson has put together a nice list of books on the New Testament that he considers the most thought-provoking books of the past five years. He lists twelve books that, he says, “grab our attention and challenge us to see things we may not be inclined to see, for better or worse.” Of the twelve books, I’ve only read or seriously worked through six of them, so I’ve got some catching up to do.

Congrats to Loren for five years of excellent blogging. Is it coincidental that four of the authors listed are also bloggers (Stephen Carlson, April DeConick, James Crossley, and Scot McKnight)?

Thanks Brandon. Precisely speaking, I’ll have exactly five years of blogging under my belt next July. But with 2009 coming to a close, I was ready to write up a list like this covering the five years of ‘05-’09.

BTW, have fun at SBL. Sorry I’ll miss you this year.
